Harleston is an ancient town straddling the Norfolk/Suffolk border, and offers a wonderful mix of historic buildings, unusual shops, and excellent cafes and restaurants.
The route from here to Diss returns to the valley and the banks of the Waveney. Look out for Billingford Mill.
