There are two fine 4½ mile walks around Hindoveston. These start in the village centre, with its attractive mixture of old and new buildings, before going out in to the pleasant surrounding countryside. Some historical features are passed along the way, including an old workhouse and three former railway buildings.

I find that this walk and many others displayed are not of the best quality. |

The owners of Culpets have put up a sign sending you round the farmyard rather than through it. So that problem seems to be solved. This hundred yard detour made the walk more attractive rather than less.
The whole of the Northern Walk was clearly signed when we went round it yesterday. |

we did the northern section of this walk on a rather chilly saturday, the wind was a tad biting but it was nice all the same, and holding hands ensured it didn`t feel that cold after all. there is a good variety of road and field walking, lots of things to see (tessa proved adept at identifying various birds), and it was a nice length walk too. it was interesting to find that a small part of the walk coincides with the excellent briston walk that is also on this website.
the previous comment about finding your way around the farm buildings still remains true to some extent, there is a little note on a gate suggesting where the footpath goes but it can feel like you`re walking up someones driveway! |

WE followed the most northerly of this pair of walks today. It was a most pleasant walk and well signed apart from the approach to the Culpits Farm buildings (GR308043). There is extensive conversion and renovation in progress with a new entrance gate and gate posts. We saw no footpath sign, which I suspect might have been removed and not replaced. We chose to turn right and skirt the buildings to the south of the perimeter, which turned out to be satisfactory, but replacement of the sign would be a useful aid. |
