Tried to follow the route from New Buckenham through to Hapton. We found a lack of arrows very frustrating and caused us to walk round in circles at some points. The upper Tas Walk was very clear once you get on the trail, as far as Schrubbery Farm, after that its a matter of quess work. In the end we just followed the road signs back. We will try again. The section from Gowers farm to Brook Hall was very confusing and we had to rely on the farmers children to guide us through the electric fencing! |

We used part of the Tas Valley and Boudiccas Way as warm up for the Dales Way, the part we encountered was between Bracon Ash and Wacton where we veered off around the bottom of Long Stratton and followed parts of Boudiccas Way.
This walk is well worth the effort though at the time the weather didn`t smile too much (it was February). Having joined the walk at Bracon Ash it follows the track by the woods which was great for a hot drink break. Shortly after this we were greeted with horizontal snow. When this cleared we had great views towards Hapton and led right through the horse sanctuary. The root did get flatter as you went south but thats Norfolk for you. There were many places we could have stopped to enjoy the scenery had we had time. This is a well sign posted root but a 1:25K map is advised. to negotiate the finer points. Many thanks for the route planners on this. |
